well, i dont really know what this box is i think it may be chinese or pasific islander or somthing. there are no names or writing on it just what the pictures i put up. i know this peice is old because the guy who gave it to me was drafted into the army back when they did draft people and it was given to him by his dad who it was given to by a foster child (who was chinese). if you could tell me what it is and where its from and possibly who made it. it looks hand carved. and one other thing what might it be worth but everthything i know about the box is in this description. i know the pic isnt the best but i couldnt get the top without more than 2mb so please do the best you can

These are Chinese made for export items, often sold in Tourist markets, very few of them predate the 1920's. A great many were brought back by sailors stationed in the pacific as souviners values for them depend on size and condition. If you could provide the dimentions of yours I'd be better able to give you an idea of value.

it has a 9 inch depth....15 inch wide...and 9 inches tall
