Oriental or Japanese Bamboo, Wood, Wicker and Lacquer Gilt Painted Chest  with brass handles and fixtures.

Measurements 31" x 21"  x 14"

There are symbols in gold gilt paint.

There are two other lacquered gilt scenes with birds

 They look like pheasants on the two front wood panels.

Trim appears to be bamboo. 

Woven wicker for most of the chest.

THe hinges, fixtures and handles are hammered etched, embossed  brass.
