this has had a tear in it and there appears to be two layers of canvas. the repair is very well done and this is ready to put in a frame and seems to be very well done.
I have an antique print appraiser for 20 years but not sure about oil paintings. this has been in my family for over 30 years. I have called it mission art and feel its related to the old Spanish missions and the Roman Catholic Church.
the canvas on the back is dark and appears as if maybe smoke from candles may have gotten on the back. that is a guess. I feel this could be much older than 1860 possibly early 1800s or older. I want to sell and dont how how to price it.
