Description

This is an antique redwood trunk. It has copper "straps" on it.

I have owned it since 1995 and it was refinished in 1995, it is unstained with a wax finish.

We put cedar boards in it, but they are not nailed in.

It looks like it was built with whole boards (not pieced together)

Let me know if more photos would be helpful.

Blanket Boxes like this with copper accents tend to date anywhere from 1915-1940. Some were made by well known makers such as Ed Roos or Lane, but they are well marked, others made by homecraftsmen from plans in magazines such as Popular Mechanics. We'd retail a good one for about $200.00, but they go for less than half that at auction.
