Royal Doulton Flambe Bowl Signed by Charles Noke

By looloopug, 19 July, 2012
Description

The Piece is from The Flambe Collection, designed by Charles Noke, one of the most influential Artists for Royal Doulton. In 1899 the Doulton studio recruited a young designer by the name of Charles Noke. He is now regarded as the brainchild behind doulton seriesware, a scheme in which a range of standard blank shapes (everything from plates to jugs, bowls to vases and teapots) could be decorated with a consistent theme.

Noke was constantly experimenting with new glaze effects and he developed a rich brown body called Kingsware which was used to make whisky flasks, particularly for Dewar’s distillery. As Art Director, he also perfected new types of Flambé decoration, such as painted Sung and modeled Chang wares.

I have tried to date the bowl, but it is so rare I can only find that it was produced in the 1920's as this is an AUTHENTICALLY SIGNED Piece By Charles Noke. I am able to find others online, but they are not signed pieces. Each one is ONE OF A KIND as they were hand painted in specific color schemes, and made in very limited edition.

I have found this information very useful in identifying this piece. (See #1) http://www.ehow.com/how_5572582_identify-royal-doulton-bowl.html

This bowl Measures: 6 inches in Diameter, and 2 1/2 inches Deep. It is in PRISTINE Collector condition. No Chips, Cracks, Discolorations. The first Pictures were taken indoors, and the others were taken outdoors to show the true color and design of this amazing 80+ year old piece.

I would like to sell this but have not been able to find any information on its value. Thank you in advance for any assistance given!
