VINTAGE ~ RARE MODEL! ~ HAS MOON DIAL !SETH THOMASWHARTON2 JEWEL 8 DAY KEY-WIND MANTLE CLOCK WITH KEYCAT: 1219 MODEL 1219-000This clock is an 8-day key wound mantel clock, key is included. It has Westminster Strike and Chime Movement. The front faces are adorned in sliver and antique brass. The backdrop is elegantly designed with etched and painted vines, leaves and flowers. The silver time dial has Roman numerals surrounded by intricate engraving and artwork. This clock plays a beautiful chime every 15 minutes that increases in chords as the hour approaches. This clock has an additional moon dial that is a rarity in Seth Thomas clocks. It has daily increments of the lunar cycle, silver stars and a silver moon surrounded by a blue sky. The silver face plate over the moon dial has etched clouds in the backdrop as well as 2 feminine figures, one holding a sword and the scale of justice, while the other holds an anchor and the dove of peace. There is a brass handle on top. The front door has hinges and a magnetic closing plate, where you open to access the winding key holes and set the time and lunar phases. The rear door also has 2 hinges, and when opened displays the original manufacture operating instructions, the original manufacturing model sticker and serial number stamp; Numbered E899-968 Issue 1. The serial number on the sticker is 7303. The clock movement mechanism is engraved "Made in Germany for Seth Thomas Division, General Time Corp, Thomaston, Conn USA A401-004 Two (2) Jewels 7206"Clock measures 12" inches high not including Handle ~ 6" inches in depth ~ and 9-1/2" inches wide.This is an excellent example of Seth Thomas craftsmanship and design work.
