Description

I bought this at a thrift store to use as a decorative trivet under a candle. Didn't know it was silver, until it started to tarnish from exposure & I was able to polish using a silver cloth. I can't find any name or markings on it and have no other knowledge of this item. Further, the underside of the silver, which sits on a glass piece, has a buildup on it, making it hard to find any markings. The glass doesn't appear to be removable.

The pictures were hard to take in detail without the flash. However, with the flash the pictures show strange glares that aren't evident on the piece. I can get more professional photos taken if needed. But, given that there weren't any special markings on it, I didn't want to waste the time.

If there are no markings on it to indicate silver content, then it's silver plated. Sterling silver will be marked "Sterling", "925" ( stering is92.5% pure silver) or with "Hallmarks" which are a series of stamps that indicate the Maker, date, city and country of origin.
