Description

The jug is a silver jug but I'm unsure of it's purpose. There are some slight scuffs and scrapes in places and the inside seems to need a clean and there is some white dry residue that has run down from the spout. It is in good condition but needs a polish but I have refrained from attempting this myself. The overall height from base to the tip of the lid is 200mm. The width from handle to spout is approximately 160mm. The diameter at the base is 100mm and 80mm at the top. Overall weight of the jug is 656 grams. All the joints/welds and the lid hinge are in good condition.

This is a late Victorian water jug, it originally would have been part of a larger set that included a matching tray tumblers and a tilt stand. On their own they often sell at auction in the $80.00- $150.00 range.
