Description oblong; rounded ribbed lines on ends and center part of sidescoming to an inch-long rectangle-end feature (two on each side toward the ends; platter has four feet, scrolled at the base with the same ribbed lines on the sides. The oval lid is about 1 1/2" tall with the ribbed lines in an oval aroun the top edge; with very plain handles.
