Small cat figurine, heavy for its size

This is a small statue but very heavy for its size and very elegant.

There are no markings anywhere on it to indicate place of manufacture or anything else.  My mother and I each have one. 

It's difficult to estimate the age of the item, but it is at least 10 years old and could be up to 30 years old.
