Most items marked "made in Japan" date after 1941. There are few exceptions.<br />

<p>Actually no, "Made in Japan" marks can predate World War Two and were used as early as the 1920's. Trading ceased with Japan during the war, most pieces made after the war were marked "Occupied Japan" until 1952 . Orion was still in business after the war, but like most Japanese makers, their output is very modestly priced, little decorative pieces like this sell for under $20.00.</p><p> </p><p>Lovejoy </p><p> </p>
