Description
This box was given to me by my mother some years ago. I adore it but haven’t been able to find out any thing about it. It’s just over two inches wide and fairly flat. The marking on the bottom is “Mesker 90”. Is like to know what kind of box it is. What would it have been used for? Who is the maker? Is it silver? Is it silver plated? What can I do about the “corrosion” on the inside? In all honesty I would love and welcome any thoughts on this. I’ve been curious about this for thirty years :).

Re: Small silver box
Mesker was the maker and this piece was silver plated .90 the maker was from Rotterdam Holland and made many spoons around the time, that this piece was made. In Holland it is common for both Men and Women to roll cigarettes. What you have here is an ornate tabacco box / tin.
