Solid Oak Table

By gorterhines, 15 March, 2014
Description

I have a old solid oak pedestal table that has been passed down in my family throughout three generations. I’m looking to sell the table, but have no idea how much to ask for it. I know the table is at least 55 years old, as my mother indicated her parents bought the table (in Appleton, WI) when she was six years old (she is now 61) and she does not believe it was new at the time. I cannot locate any specific year on the table, but there is a marking on the slide that indicates it was made by the Watertown Table Slide Company (it is very faint). The table has three extension leaves. Without the leaves, it seats four and with the leaves it seats at least eight. My mother believes that my grandfather refinished it on at least one occasion in the past. It is in fair condition, meaning that it would likely need some sanding and refinishing. Any ideas on how much this table may be worth? Any guidance is greatly appreciated!
