Sterling and Jade Ring

I found this ring at the bottom of a ring jar in a pawn shop and was drawn to it, so I bought it. I took it to a jeweler and he confirmed that it was in fact sterling and jade. He would not really comment on it otherwise, or could not tell me anything about it. I have done countless searches online and can not find anything like it. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Yes, it needs to be cleaned and it looks like it may have hit a washer a time or two, but I think it is unique and pretty neat looking!
