2 lg, table lamps from historic Texas Hotel, ft worth, before renovation in 1968. this is the hotel kennedy stayed at the night before he was assassinated. from the style of the lamps, i assume these were from the original construction 1920-21, but do not know for sure. my parents purchased them when the hotel sold off furnishings for the renovation when we lived in ft. worth. I believe they were displayed in the lobby. I was there when they were purchased by my parents.
Lamp measurements: 49” tall from base to top of finial, each muse (?) is 18.5 in tall and approx. 7” wide; 3 diff women, clothes, faces, holding hands all around. In excellent condition with shades and finials. Exceptions: cord replaced on one; not on the other, but they both worked last time used. One toe of one muse is broken off. I think they are made of plaster – quite heavy. Not sure if gilt is real or not except that some water spots on the base have turned green wh would seem to indicate yes?
thank you! sami
