17th Century Turkish Sword with gold leaf Islamic writing and leather scabbard.  I request knowledgeable persons recommend value and whether a formal appraisal is neccessary.

Ottoman Kilij or shamshir.

Depending on quality of steel wootz or plain,sword can fetch up to 4000$ or more,
