This stein is very lovely and extremely high quality. I can't tell whether the flowers are a decal or hand painted. There is no signature. The bottom is concave with a blue green crown and N and the word Dresden. There are also incised markings in the porcelain bottom which I think read ANNO 2853 (4853) below an incised crown. The weight is just under 2bls 9oz. There is no damage that I can see or feel, no crazing. The scroll work on the lid is very dainty, the vibrant, floral designs are different on each side. The crown top is open. Superior workmanship. I purchased this at a yard sale and was told by the lady that her dad brought it back from Germany during the war. The condition is such that it could have been made yesterday and put on the shelf for sale today. Not a ding, nick, crack, nothing wrong with it. Colors are vibrantcobalt, burgandy, oranges and softer shades of orange blue and pinks.. no fading at all. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure whether or not I want to sell it. But for now, it's not for sale.
