W C Marshall Sculpture - Lady

By Lauren1988, 27 April, 2020
Description

I have this sculpture of a lady by W C Marshall. It is engraved on the base with a date of 1st January 1861 and is stamped with Crystal Palace Art Union on the underneath. I believe she is missing a mirror that she was holding. The necklace, headband, dress detail and sandals are all gold leaf.

I believe it is made of marble the same as his other works were, it is genuine and has been in the family for 20+ years but I know nothing else about it sadly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do not even know the name of the sculpture!
