Waltham Pocket watch

American Waltham , U.S.A. TRAVELER is stamped on a bracket holding the gears in place on the inside back of the watch. Beside that, is another bracket where the serial number is stamped ( 16549870 ). On the outside rim , where the male threds are for the back cover, the numbers (0092) are stamped. Inside the back cover is stamped, ( FORTUNE ). Shaped in a half moon design, over , what looks like a basketball with wings and under that, in the shape of the bottom of the half moon is stamped , ( A.W.C.CO.). Then under that, printed in a strait line , is stamped (GOLD FILLED). Then under that, in the shape of a " V " , the numbers ( 1040092 )are stamped. The watch is "OPEN FACED"with a seconds dial on the bottom, in the 6 O'Clock position. The numbers are in both ROMAN NUMERALS and regular numbers. ( I,II,III,IIII,V,VII,VIII,IX,X,XI,AND XII. Under each roman numeral is printed 13,14,15,16,20,21,22,23,and 24 under the XII.The numbers 17,18,and 19 are blocked by the seconds timer.Also , part of the V and VII have a small part of the bottom blocked as well.The VI is blocked , completely. The winding knob is in the 12 o'clock position.Works great and I carry it with me every day. There's no way of taking the chain off, so I think it was a part of the watch when it was made.
