Wardrobe/Armoire

By pchela, 8 November, 2010
Description

5 cubbyholes on the right marked shirts, pyjamas, underwear and sundries.  Left side has a bar for hanging clothes.  The only marks I've found are on the locks which are stamped ASRO  and hinges which say Made in England TC.  There are a couple of dings and scratches.   One sliding hinge is broken on the left side.

Re: Wardrobe/Armoire

Hi I was wondering if you have come up with any information on your piece?  I have a armoire that also has ASRO hardware, has a mark that says "L Marcus LTD Makers of Fine Furniture Since 1898 Beatty Works London n.16.  I have come across others but their mark has a date in which mine doesn't.  No hits on the ASRO hardware either.

Re: Wardrobe/Armoire

These are Art Deco pieces, in most cases they predate WW2 and have been exported by the containerload over to North america since the 1980's. Values for them vart depending on their condtion and quality of construction, but most sellat auction for under $300.00.
