Hello Insappraisal! Its my first time here on the website.
The other day I was at a thrift store looking around where I found this random Verizon wireless phone box. I didnt think much of it at first but than I saw a label written in sharpie saying: Wax Seals.
I opened it and I found six wax seals ranging from different time periods of English kings and queens. All of them had a label in the back with the description of each seal and whom it belonged to.
If you cant see the picture clearly, here are the descriptions:
Big red seal(top left corner): "Great Seal of Queen Henrietta Maria" (1609 - 69)
Big green-ish seal(bottom left corner): "Great Seal of King Edward III" (1312 - 77)
Medium yellow seal(top middle): "Great Seal of King Edward III" (1312 - 77)
Small white seal(bottom middle) : "Seal of William 1, (The Conqueror), King of England and Duke of Normandy [1066-1087]
Small tan-ish seal(top right corner): "Seal of the Corporation of Centerbury" [1308]
Small white seal(bottom right corner) : Seal of Kilkenny(Ireland) [15th cent.]
Some of them seemed like the wax has been used or burned before, but they the detail behind some of the others is very impressive. I dont know whether these are common, or whether I am holding on to something that is valuable. Thats why I need your help.
Thank you very much!
