AI Appraisal

Description 1935 edition in green cloth with gilt title on outside. Inside Hughes wrote: "For Josephine Johnson, with sincere greetings - Langston Hughes. St Louis, April 9, 1938" Josephine was my mother. She won the 1934 Pulitzer Prize in fiction. It is a seventh printing in almost pristine condition. No outside jacket.
