White Furn Co dresser and highboy

By princessz, 5 August, 2015
Description

Hi there,

I was trying to find hardware for the 3 drawer bails that are missing, but I realized that some of the White Furniture Company peices were selling for more money than other vintage peices.

I looked online for other similar peices and was only able to find this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/WHITE-FURNITURE-CO-Hickory-White-38-Italian-Prov...That peice is in much better condition, so I wouldn't want to buy that for the hardware (even if the price allowed that).

At this point, I'm ready to buy some new hardware and paint/fix up these two peices. Is there a reason not to do that? Are these peices worth something to someone as is? The peices are not in great condition, but the furniture is obviously extremely well-made. I would be willing to sell it for the right price.

(I am still unable to find the missing hardware. I did notice the hardware is stamped with "1960" and a "2.") If anyone knows where I can find something like that, please let me know. They are about 8.5 inches long, but the center holes are 5 inches apart.

If you know anything about this furniture or  hardware, please let me know.

Thank you!!

Please don't paint it.  it is usually made of butternut wood also referred to as white walnut.  I am searching for the nightstands.  the handles you can look on ebay or just change them out.  The White Fine Furniture Company was one of the first in the south.  It was made in Mebane, North Carolina.
