Beautiful Antique Trunk

By cassiet717, 22 April, 2013
Description

I inherited this antique trunk from my grandmother. I don't know when she obtained it or how much he paid for it. It's in beautiful condition, very few scratches on the outside, and is complete on the interior. It is black with wooden bands and iron (I think) detailing. The interior is lined in a floral pattern and is undamaged. It has one shelf with a partition creating two sections.

Re: Beautiful Antique Trunk

This is what's called a "Hump top" trunk, they tend to date from the last quarter of the 19th century, but are not rare. They were made in huge numbers and most have still survived to this day. At auctions they often sell for under $150.00, even in very good condition.
