Ok So the story behind this is:
My father served in the Navy in 1972 he was stationed in Spain where he purchased a hand carved sword plaque, which honors El Cid. I do not know much about it, aside from the dress swords which I currently have with it are not the original as they were stolen durring a move in the early 1990's. However the ones that I have with it now are identical to the ones which came with it.
I have seen many smaller and cheap sword plaque's which honor El Cid, however I have never seen one of this size nor of this level of eligance. From tip to bottom it is aprox. 2ft. in height and I believe it is made of oak. I would love any information on it which can be offered. Including if it is worth anything. But the history if there is one would be nice as well.
I am not sure if I am interested in selling it as of yet, I guess alot of that would depend on it's worth.
Thank you in advance for any information.
