Johnson Grand Rapids mens Highboy dresser

By Lisalovelace1, 24 May, 2019
Description

I just picked up this piece and am picking up the matching ladies chest of drawers in a couple days. It looks like mahogany but I'm sure it's not oak. How old and how much? It stands over 4 feet and is approx 45 inches in length. There is a Johnson button attached to the inside of the top drawer

Re: Johnson Grand Rapids mens Highboy dresser

It's a nice Federal Revival style piece, most of them pre date world war two (1939). They tend to be a mix of harwoods, often maple with mahogany/walnut veneers. We'd retail a comparable in good condition for about $450.00, but they go for far less at auction these days.
