Description

I recently purchased this table at a local auction.  The seller said that his parents purchased the table many years ago and he thought that it was French and from the late 1800's, but had no provenance.  The table appears to be old but has had some of the wood replaced and the drawer knobs are attached with modern screws.

Category European Furniture
Medium Wood
Distinguishing marks There is faint writing in white on the back underside of the table but I can not make out what the writing says.  A more modern mark in black marker on the underside of the table appears to say "T72M40" and the small center drawer has a white sticker with same marking so I assume this was added by a dealer at some point.
Condition Fair

I don't have plans on selling the table at this time but I was hoping that someone might be able to give me more information on the table or an idea of what it might be worth. Thanks!

Based on the images and wood type this is a European example, similar tables were also made in North America, but out of native soft woods like white pine. Currently comparable tables sell at auction in the $1000.00- $1800.00 range.
