Ruckel's Pottery White Hall ILL 1876 Jug

By bonitadiane, 17 June, 2010
Description

Another item that we found in the basement of the house we just bought. This jug was wrapped in old newspaper.
Not sure of it's value but would love to know.
The bottom markings read PUCKEL'S POTTERY WHITE HALL ILL 1870.
If anyone can tell me it's value that would be great.

Re: Ruckel's Pottery White Hall ILL 1876 Jug

This is a piece of Ruckels pottery, produced in White Hall Illinois.  The date on the bottom isn't the year it was made, but rather the year the owner started producing stoneware.  This particular bottom stamp was used to mark the 50th Anniversary.  You are looking at a piece produced 1920 or later.

If in great condition, this is one of the harder pieces to find.  I'd say if you are selling to a collector that is familiar with White Hall Stoneware, you could get $200 - $250 if in perfect condition.  I hope this helps.
