Antique Rocking Chair

By dreama, 26 June, 2010
Description

This chair has vinyl covering on the seat and front, stamped Goodrich MVSS-301 which is something BF Goodrich is known for developing. There is a gauze like material on the back of the chair, and all appears to have replaced the original material. I believe the tacks are the original - but this needs to be redone. We removed the bottom of the seat from under the chair which had obviously been added and should not be reused when the seat and back are redone.

It has 1024 stensiled inside the chair bottom and the bottom was stuffed with "straw" and a gunny sack, with springs fastened by twine that appear to have been the original part of the chair. We saved this for anyone that may want to use it again.

I have had this for around 25 years, and we no longer have room for it and I would like to sell this as is.
