This doll belonged to my grandmother....she told me she played with it as a child. I believe it is porcelin, it does not feel heavy enough to be china....though my grandmother always called them the china dolls. It is not broken, but has areas that have the surface peeling off, mostly around the face, head and on the legs and feet. These have happened in storage over the past couple of decades. The body is stuffed, the head, arms and legs are breakable. It has a visible disc under the surface of its stuffed back that would appear to have made it a musical or possibly a crying doll at one time. I also played with it as a child and do not remember it making any noise at that time. I cannot find any markings, year or company etc anywhere on the doll. It is a full size baby doll. The eyes open and close, it has visible teeth inside an open mouth, there is slight damage to one finger, it looks like a small chunk as broken off.
