This painting is from my boyfriend of 30 years who recently passed. He bought this when we sold our business. I have been researching it and it appears on the back to be the signature of John Elwyn, `1970. A famous welsh painter. I have looked at his works and he did not do this kind of work so I am leaning in the direction that he once owned it.
In one picture looks like a signature, in another towards the top in middle there is a number 847, and to the right top corner there is a number 30 and below that is a number 40, the other picture is the front of the buffet
I need to tell grandpa’s story. He was born in a covered wagon between Arkansas and Indian Territory in 1889. He used the magazine salesman case from around 1907 to 1911 After that he became a plumber. He did all the plumbing in the OK capital building that was started in 1914 and finished in 1917. I have a picture of him starting the first plumbers union in Guthrie OK in 1917. My uncle is the little boy in the picture. My mom was born in 1917 so she is not in the picture. The "Gold Ball" in the picture was on the first flagpole at the Capital building in OK city. He made the ball out of copper sheeting. Later on he worked at the capital building for many years and took care of the plumbing and other things. I would like to get some kind of idea of the value of these items. I would like to sell these items once I get an idea of their value.
