I don't have a picture, but it's in excellent condition. It was completely refurbished. It has three holes for time adjustment and so forth. The chimes are beautifully crisp and somewhat loud. It has an adjustable pendulum and key.
This item looks like it might be some kind of thin horn or very thick leather. It has wood plugs at either end; very small nail heads are visible around the horn holding the wood in place. There are 2 holes on the concave side of the horn; one is about 5/8" across, and the other is about 1/16". There is a small nail on each wood end with a remmant of leather? still under it. The item is hand carved. Still readable is A. H. 177. There are 4 circles with curved lines like pieces cut for pie. There are other letters, but the deterioration of the item makes them unreadable. There are other "decorative" carvings including an S scroll on each side of the larger hole.
Does anyone hava an idea what this might be?
Thanks for the help. K
American Colonial full size bed with original casters and no damage. It has been very well taken care of. Therea are a few superficial scratches from being moved. Built in 1894 and sold by a mercantile in Wisconsin; according to a tag on one of the slats holding the bed together. My sister purchased the bed along with other items in a lot for $100.00 from a friend who had a yard sale. I've been sleeping on this bed for about 5 years now and just wondered how much it might be worth.
