Staffordshire Spaniel

Category
Ceramics and Porcelains
Description

I am after any assistance I can get with the following:

Single Staffordshire Spaniel appears to have a join line down each side as thought it has been molded in two pieces.

It has a small vent hole in the lower middle back section.

The base appears to be silightly concaved with the marking 10 or 01. The marking appears to be in ink.

I don't know much about the item other than it came to Australia with my great grandparents in the late 1880's.

Ruby Gold Slipper

Condition
Good
Description

A Close Friend Passed away years ago and passed this down to me. This is the Ruby Slipper? He gave with the history note. Theyre is 2 parts i cant read

This is the old hand written note that came with the ruby slipper:

This Gold Slipper with a Ruby on its Toe is for John Bruce Lawson. It was given to me at the time of his birth, July 17th 1959 by Hara Malamaki, wife of the former Greek Ambassador to Canada, Pami Malamaki. It is a Greek Custom to give something with red on it at the birth- signafying the passing of the bloodlines I think though Hara's English was difficult to understand. She told me that a close friend of her had given it to her ( Hara) when she was visiting in Cairo at the time ___? (cant make the writing out) took over the ___? and Confiscated all the money and gold of the wealthy people. Hara and monay other friends left the country with money and jewellery sewn into their clothes or beaded onto dresses or covered as buttons ect. The friend said if she ever got out she would get her jewellery back but if not, the friends should keep it and enjoy it. This will replace the pearl ring dad gave me at your birth as it was stolen by the two live ins we had with us in 1968

Love BB

OCtober 20th 1982

J. Lawson

Chanel No. 5

Category
Perfume Bottles
Condition
Excellent
Description

I need an appraisal for an antique Chanel No. 5. I believe it is from the 1920-1940's because of the dot under the No. instead of the side of it. It has the box and it is unopened. Although it is missing the little black circle that would be on the seal.  The bottom of the box says EXTRAIT M M and also No. 202, Made in France. Thank you!

antique wooden hand held mirror

Category
Other
Condition
Poor
Description

This is a hand held mirror that I found in a flea market. It looks to me to be very old, and resmbles something of an Edwardian style. I don't know much about it, there are no distinctive markings on it to indicate who made the piece. The beveling on the glass and wooden handle suggests a high quality piece. Any info would be gladly acceppted, thanks!
