History
I found this Bible in a West Virginia junk auction. The spine is damaged at the top and bottom but the rest of the book is in really nice condition considering its age. A few of the ikllustration plates have some age spots but the clasp still works, which I hear is unusual. I guess the family who owned it didn't bother with keeping records because all of the marriage, death and photo pages are blank. Any ideas on its value? Should I look into getting the damaged areas repaired? Only the top and bottom inches of the spine's leather are missing/frayed.

While there is some demand

While there is some demand for Victorian "Presentation Bibles" of this type, it is mainly for signed example formerly owned by famous ( or Infamous) people. Most examples in damaged condition sell for about what you paid for yours .

Lovejoy

Nice appraisal and good news
Nice appraisal and good news to hear. If I didn't overpay I guess I did okay. Thank you!
