This coin is not technically speaking "junk" silver, i.e. valued only for its weight in silver and not for any numismatic value, but it is pretty close. In the world of junk silver one finds Washington quarters most commonly so the fact that this is a Barber makes it unique.

Obviously condition is solely what would determine value for this coin. There is a considerable amount of detail missing from the head gear and profile, outside reed, and the back side.

You would have to weigh the coin to determine how much of it is left but if it was in mint condition, the coin would have approximately $3.75 in silver value alone. Since some of the material is missing due to circulation, you can bet it weighs less than a mint coin and thus has less silver. However, given its rarity and age, you can expect the value today to be between $5.00-$10.00.

$5.00 to $10.00 Condition is everything here... If it were very fine.. $350.00 around there.. If you plan to sell, mount the coin in a nice display . you can get $20.00 +  or use it as a really nice ball marker.... I use a V Nickle and get lots of looks...some offers. I didn't sell.....
