1930s Fischer Diathermy Electrocoagulation machine

By scorpio169, 3 November, 2014
Description

1930s Fischer Diathermy machine. Model G2. Working condition. Orginal glass on case. Several attachments and extras including tin pads, Electrocoagulation kit and foot pedal. Original stand (I believe) but missing caster wheels. Powered by a Tesla coil so it produces large arcs of electric current across the contact points. Very cool to see but kind of scary. Overall good condition. Minor scrapes and dents but mostly on the stand.

Bought it from a lady who had inherited it from a doctor. Not much else knows about it's. History accept that it was used in tonsillectomy surgery. It has soom paperwork and an attachment specifically designed for that purpose.
