With books it's all about "Author, edition and condition", Alice in Wonderland is a famous book, but it has been printed in the tens of millions. Judging from the Art Nouveau style cover this one dates from the turn of the 19th Century, Hurst & Co is listed as having printed it Circa1900-1910. In the shape it's in these sell for less than $5.00

For book searches pop "addall books" into Google, they list inventories of a large number of Antiquarian book sellers.
