amphora vase

By c11jones, 8 October, 2015
Description

Hi, I have an amphora vase (I think thats what it is?) that is 1ft high & 6in wide-from handle to handle. It is brown w/ green handles & the surface is textured. I believe there are markings on the bottom, but I cannot make them out. I have done research, but still I still dont know-I never knew there was so much to know about pottery:different styles, markings, clays, time periods, etc. I would really appreciate some help, thank you.
