Description
Beautiful Dark wood Antique China Cabinet
This piece has been in my family for many generations. It is made of solid wood and is beautifully crafted with a glass door with artistic wood scrolled design over the glass, three shelves with a patterned design rather than a straight cut, grooved lined to display China, and a drawer underneath to hold other cherished pieces. This is a quality piece of furniture with no scratches or need for refinishing.
Re: Antique China Cabinet
China Cabinets of this type are in what's called the "Colonial Revival" style. Colonial Revival pieces
are reproductions of the original American Colonial items originally produced from 1620-1780. This one was made during the 1920's to early 30's.
The Colonial Revival style became popular after the first Centennial of the American Revolution
in 1876. At that time interest and demand for original Colonial & Federal furnishings was so
great it outstripped supply. This caused large manufacturers to begin production of pieces in the Colonial style from the Jacobean to early Georgian periods. Today values for these pieces depends on their quality of construction, how close they follow original designs and their overall condition. We now sell comparable cabinets in the $350.00- $500.00 range.
Re: Antique China Cabinet
Thank you, will the value go up once it reaches antique status of 100 years old?
Re: Antique China Cabinet
Not likely, furniture like this was mass produced, passing the magic 100 year mark has little effect on most pieces like this
