Description

I am told this is an antique tea caddy/vessel that would have been used during the Japanese tea ceremony. It was obtained by my husband's great grandfather in Japan during the early 1900's but may be older than that. There are two pieces that sit one on top of the other. The matrial is some sort of metal that is painted a brown/maroon color with intricate swirling designs on the outside and the interior is a deep aqua color. The piece include a metal screen with tiny holes for making the tea and a small metal spoon.  I could not find any markings anywhere on the piece. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.
