This is an antique rolltop desk of unknown age bought about 11-12 years ago from a 2nd hand store in my town that has since gone out of business. It's very heavy. It will take at least 2 strong men to move it and my husband isn't capable of doing that anymore. It's very sturdy. My 2 destructive kids, now preteens, banged on it. There are a number of wear and tear marks, places where the veneer has worn off. The top blue strip my husband put on to keep the kids from playing on it. That's simply a pull out that has a big wear mark from where the mouse was. My son especially loved to pull that out and I got tired of telling him to not use that. The bottom strip was put on because my house is on a slant (there aren't a lot of houses in VT that aren't on a slant!) and that section just falls out so it's taped shut. This section is just a lot of empty space, I don't know what it could be used for. The rolltop itself is broken. It will require somebody to get in back and fix (at least that's what my husband did) and he can't do that anymore. The drawer where the keyboard is still works, pulls out all the way & shuts. There's a "preinstalled" hole behind the computer tower for a cord, meaning that's probably what it was meant for. It would be a great project for somebody who works on these things. My parents tried to help me & bring this picture to a local appraiser but he was closed til spring! If it's junk, just let me know :)
