I recently acquired this antique sewing rocker from an estate sale. The woman said it was a Victorian era rocking chair and said she had received it from her grandmother. There aren't any markings that I can see. It's in very good condition if it really is that old!
The color of the fabric is more of a burgundy color. The picture I uploaded of the back looks purple but the other pictures show the color more accurately. There is a gorgeous hand-stiched embroidered flower on the seat back.
I took a picture of the bottom as I have never seen anything with drilled holes like this.
It's a rather small rocker, but it's very solid.
As it sits, the size is 33.5" tall,
15.5" floor to seat,
seat width is 18.5",
rocker legs are 30"
I am curious to know if this indeed is a Victorian era rocker and the value of it.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
