History History of the piece is unknown. My aunt, now 92 yrs young, can not recall where or how she acquired the piece. She continues to say it reminds her of her husband sitting under the tree in their back yard. The man in the server looks like he is taking a rest on a Sunday. Sitting beneath the tree, the leaves/ vnes on the trees serve as his backdrop. There are birds resting on each side of the server and scrolls throughout the piece. Where the server meets the handle there is a 9 pointed "head dress?" on the "empress?" that looks as if she is protecting the man sitting beneath the tree. At the very top of the curved handle is a bird. I have found 3 markings by the bird. However, there are no other markings that I can see.It looks as if it matches the birds on the server. It is really quite a deteailed piece if you just sit an look at the piece. I am interested in learning the history of the piece, who made the design, what was the man's name beneath the tree, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
