Description

This set was handed down from one family member to the next.  The bowl is about 13 1/2 inches to 14 inches across.  The pitcher stands about 10 inches tall.  In addition to those two pieces, there is a smaller pitcher, chamber mug, cup, some sort of three piece soap dish, and a smaller "vase".  Maybe the vase is a toothbrush holder - not sure.  The color is an offwhite with a pale blue design and the bottom states it is "Peony" design.  All the pieces are in excellent shape, no chips or cracks.  The only piece that has a problem is the one I call the "vase".  It has a light brown colored stain that is underneath the top layer of the glaze.  You can look at the last two pictures that are attached to see what I am referring to.  I understand that the EJD Bodley factory closed in 1898 so this gives me an idea of the age of this set.  I have been holding on to this set for many years and I am trying to downsize so I would like to get any information available on this item so if I decide to sell, I have an idea of value.  Any help would be appreciated and any questions, I will gladly try to answer.  Thank you all.

Medium I think it is pottery.
Distinguishing marks "Trade Mark EBDJ Burslem England Peony and on some of the pieces there is a "P" stamped on.
Condition Excellent
Date Period 1890's
History This piece may have belonged to my mother-in-law's uncle. She told me that he owned a hotel in Nova Scotia and she had items from that hotel. The timing makes sense since the uncle would have been in his 40's around the time the factory closed in 1898.
Price Paid (If known) family heirlooom
