English Dining Table and Chairs

By shefully, 27 September, 2012
Description

We bought this dining table and chairs at a used furniture store in Southport, England (about 7-8 yrs ago)when we lived there, we paid about 300 UK pounds for it at the time.It is a very nice solid wood table, maybe Mahogany or walnut not sure, we believe it is an antique replica. Possibly Cabriole legs ornate with ball and claw feet, carvings of (acanthus?)leaves and flowers. The chairs are padded (removable)and have a tan flowered material on them. may be Chippendale style. the top of the table comes unscrewed from the base.We have outgrown the table for 4 and we were thinking of selling it, we are wondering how much we should get for it? It has had one of the chair backs broken but we repaired it as well as we could. It has a few dents in the table top(no stain missing though), but overall is in beautiful shape. Thank you.

Re: English Dining Table and Chairs

Based on the images this set was pretty new when purchased , it appears to be an Asian reproduction Chippendale set from the 1980's. It's not  a bad set and at auction you should get back at least what you paid for it. we see sets like this go at auction for under a $800.00
