I have a Globe-Wernicke 5 drawer metal file cabinet in what I think is good condition -- all the internal mechanisms are there and working including the sliding files inside the drawers, the enamel is in reasonably decent condition, etc.
From pictures of the company's advertisements (such as www.ecrater.com/p/5319393/globe-wernicke-filing-cabinets-desks-and# or www.ecrater.com/p/4461041/1949-globe-wernicke-let-r-guard-steel#) I believe it to be from the 1940s or earlier.
Despite substantial research I've not been able to find anything about it's value or even its rarity online. Can anyone give me an idea of its value, how rare it is, if I'm correct about its era, etc?
(Tips on how to gauge condition of items like this would also be appreciated.)
Please feel free to ask any questions you may have or request more pictures. Thanks so much!
