Description The bench is in near flawless condition. There looks to be some paint rub marks on the ends of the arms, but that is very much the extent of any damage. The caning is in mint condition and very tight. The legs and arms have a bit of a flare to the outside. It is light but very sturdy. There is not a nail or a screw on the entire bench (wooden pegs are visible) and all the caning is woven through holes, with no apparent bracing beyond that. (I have to apologize, I have never been educated on antiques and am trying my best to be descriptive). It does not shake or wobble.

History I purchased this bench from an old shop in Tennessee after seeing it on display on the side of the road. I thought it was striking and decided it was definitely worth the $30. My mother saw it and commented on the cane seating (she is pretty well versed in Virginian antiques) and the unique back.
Price Paid (If known) $30
