Help with identification / value of old desk

By debbierose3, 14 June, 2016
Description

I am trying to identify an old desk that belonged to my husband's grandfather.
Written on the bottom of one of the drawers is NO.IO,MAH
It seems to be all solid wood.
I am assuming that the MAH means it is mahogany wood.

The finish on the outside of the desk looks like milk chocolate. It appears to have been hand painted, since it looks like sloppy brush marks on the sides of the drawers.

The drawers have dovetail corners. I am not sure if they are hand or machine made. They don't seem to be very precise.

The handles are very unique, I have never seen any like these before.

Any help with identification would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
