Hi,
I'm hoping somebody here will be able to give me some information on a jug/vase I purchased at a car boot sale.
All I can make out is Luckington Pottery, Luckington, Wilts which is here in the UK.
I've googled as far as I can but there's just nothing on the internet about this pottery manufacturer except that it existed from the early 17th century through to around 1922 and a potters name attached of James Tanner who was at the pottery in 1881 and he died in 1922. They were originally a brickworks, tileworks and garden pottery.
There's nothing at all on eBay for Luckington pottery, nothing comes up in google images either so I'm unable to put a date to it, a value or any real kind of history other than the above. I don't even know if it's technically a jug or a vase which is my assumption as it has no spout.
If anyone is able to shed some light on what is a beautiful jug/vase I would be very grateful.
Many Thanks in advance.
Nic
