Japanese Tea Set

By Hayden, 5 June, 2024
Description

This tea set was purchased - by my father - in Japan around 1953. I’ve learned the style of tea pot is Kyushu. I don’t know much else, but am curious about it’s value.

Category
China
Medium
Not sure of the medium - I can see brightness thru the cups when held to the light. The rim of the tea pot is rough and has a notch in it - like it occurred if it was fired in a kiln.
Distinguishing marks
Unreadable to me - See photos of the bottom of the cup and interior of tea pot lid.
Condition
Excellent
Date Period
Purchased in Japan around 1953
